Security at Daily

Secure calls

We establish calls using 256-bit TLS encryption, and AES-256 encryption protects video and audio. True end-to-end encryption is available.

Data protection

We never store any audio, video, or screen sharing data other than through our documented recording APIs. We never route data through servers in China.

Secure infrastructure

AWS infrastructure located around the world hosts Daily's services. Data centers are SOC 1, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 certified with 24/7 operations and enterprise-grade security.

FAQs

Are Daily video calls P2P?

Daily video chats with two participants are peer-to-peer. When a third participant joins, the call seamlessly switches to our cloud infrastructure.

Are video calls fully encrypted?

Peer-to-peer (p2p) calls are always end-to-end encrypted. Cloud-connected calls are encrypted to and from our cloud servers. Media decryption and re-encryption in our cloud always happen in memory and at the application layer, so we never have access to your calls.

Do you sell information to third parties?

We never sell or share any information you give us. We don’t collect or store any data other than what’s necessary to provide video calls, phone dial-in, and Daily dashboard features.

Will Daily sign a BAA?

Yes! With compliance built from the ground up, we will sign a Business Associates Agreement. Contact us at help@daily.co to get started.

Can Daily see my video calls?

Daily employees can never see your video calls. Our approach to encryption ensures that no one ever has access to your calls unless you invite them to your call.

What data do you log?

We never store any audio, video, or screen-sharing data from any call unless you turn on recording. We only store data to run our service and improve call quality and robustness for you. No log data is stored longer than necessary to perform analytics to improve Daily service quality.
